I was trying to keep that helmet/hair look.
Most of Japanese female robots (comic or real) has face skin likes human, even if another parts are so mechanical. (I think, most designers in Japan regards robot as kind of girls costume.)
Of course I like that. But I think the design like this picture has more better balance. She has same "mechanical skin" for face to legs.
I saw these design in my favorite old movie "Bicentennial Man" The robots in this movie are so good!
I haven't seen 'Bicentennial Man' yet, though I may give it a shot when I get the chance.
I would tend to look at 'Transformers' the cartoon series for design ideas, if only because their designs look consistantly mechanical all the way through.
I MIGHT try to blend the human/robot designs to see if anything GOOD comes out, but that might just look too...off.
Flamekin2's short series 'Cybernetic Conversion' has a style that works well, I think. The main characters are roboticized, but are a nice design.
*shivers*
I'm SURE he woulda gotten to that...interactive b/u dolls that trash-talk you as you bone them...
Imagine what would happen if these were the kind of robots from I, Robot.
They stay too long and they turn into sentient, talking, blow-up sex dolls that need regular infusions of...ummm...'man juice' to be able to move and talk independantly.
I was looking at Flamekin's 'Cybernetic Conversion': [link]
Pretty damn good.
It got me to thinking about the robo-girls' world & culture...and I went back to tweak Meredith...I figured the earlier version I did could be...better.
