_____________

Chris walked through the party, tugging nervously on the collar of his tuxedo.

He never liked social events. He found them useless, and generally preferred to stay home, illustrating.

His affluent friend from school, Muriel, had invited him to her summer home for a party…and would NOT take NO for an answer.

Strange, since she was generally fairly affable.

"C'mon, Chris, It'll be fun! You never know who you might meet."

Right, he thought. It'll be a sure fire cure for insomnia, like always.

He was glommed from behind.
"Muriel! What the…?!"

"GREAT! You're here! Just in time! The music's gonna start in about five minutes!"

Muriel seems almost TOO excited, Chris thought. Why? She's...

His train of thought was interrupted by a surprisingly strong push from the Ginger-haired host...a moment before she vanished into the crowd, leaving him by a pair of open doors leading out to one of the second story's balconies.

What the HELL was that all about? He grunted, pushing his glasses back up on his nose.
He looked at the dressed up people around him as the band started a slow dance, watching as they joined into pairs.

GREAT. Chris thought. Fifth wheel. AGAIN.
Maybe I can get to the front doors if I'm careful...

He noticed the dancers drawing away from from him, giving him looks of revulsion.
"What the HELL is THEIR problem?!" he muttered.

A moment later, he heard a faint clacking behind him. He turned around to see a flash of dark gloss red and white flutter out of view.
A satyri? Here? That would explain the dirty looks...A LOT of people couldn't STAND satyri, and looked down on them.

He heard a whisper.
"Chris! Dammit, Muriel! Why?!"

"Leah?! You're here?! I thought you were over with some of the girls studying for one of your Regents?"

Silence. Then a red spade moved out. It was rapidly pulled out of sight by a white gloved hand.

Chris took a few steps forward. "C'mon, Leah! I KNOW that's you! If we're gonna be miserable here, we might as well sulk together, huh?"

"You'll laugh..."

"Dude, c'mon! I haven't done THAT since the Spaghetti incident in the 5th grade!"

He heard her stifle a giggle at the memory.
She sighed nervously. "Y-You PROMISE you won't?!"

"Promise."

There was silence for a moment, and then the sound of rustling fabric, as Leah stepped into view.

Chris found that he couldn't talk if he WANTED to...He was struck dumb by the figure in the white dress.

Leah had her light brown hair elegantly arranged into a tall hairstyle and graced by a rose on the side.
She wore a long, white, glittery sheath dress with a slit up to her hips, which contrasted against her glossy brick red skin.
Gold hoop earrings hung off her long, elf-like ears, and were accented by a few gold bracelets on her arms...and one on her left lower leg.
Even her hooves were decorated out in hot pink & white patterns.

"I...I.." She stammered as Chris walked up to her.

She took a deep breath, and then whispered,

"Err...H-Have you ever danced with a devil in the pale moonlight?!"

Her red face went as purple as a plum.

Chris smiled. She's still him, he thought. Still a Batman™ geek. All the makeup in the world can't change that.
He reached out his hand as she was pulling hers back, and enfolded it. He grinned.
"Can't say I HAVE, but there's a first time for everything."
He walked out onto the balcony as the doors silently creaked closed. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a spray of ginger hair peeking through the curtains.

The green eye under that hair winked.

Chris shook his head slightly and looked over at his date. He could almost swear she was glowing in the moonlight...

"Shall we, Leah?"

She nodded, and pulled him to her. They both held each other's waists...she snaked her tail protectively around him...

And the dance began...
_____________

I'm having a hard time visualizing a nice background for her.
She's rather close to being finished, but the background is not really there...
I'd appreciate any suggestions in this area.

I'm rather happy with how she's coming out...Finally got something that's clean but shows her details AND the highlights.

Thanks for the help! :)

Although the angle might be giving you trouble Hmmm

That might be it...I may have to Poser it up and see if I'm just doing the perspective wrong.

I could put her against a black background, but it wouldn't REALLY tell a story.

This was the other one I was alluding to earlier, BTW.

...And thanks for the fave, BTW! :)

The thighs look a little long and the angle has been moved slightly from the old 90 closer [link] (You can see more of the shins then usual) and this from the side [link]

Hmm.

I see what you mean. I'll see if I can adjust them tonight.
As for the thighs, I was trying to get a bit of the elegant, long-legged 'model' look to her.

Thanks for the help, DPR. :)

My fashion sense says a black dress would work better with that skin tone, but it still looks quite alluring.
Even if she is fully demon.

But this comes from that fact that in real life I tend to make friends with people that have some sort of clout.

I'd probably TRY black, but I'd have to go for a lighter background...unless Leah REALLY wants to hide... :)

I could see her just fine in black.
The typical color scheme for demon-like ladies is black and red anyhow.

For the TRUE, evil demonesses, I'd think.

If I was in Leah's hooves, I'm not sure I'd WANT to dress in black at this point...
unless I was a Goth prior to my shower. :)

What's wrong with gothy characters? As long as its not shoved in my face, I like it.
Actually, I'm more of a fan of cybergoth or...tribal goth...
